The beta-1 adrenergic receptor (ADRB1) mediates the catecholamine-induced activation of adenylate cyclase through the action of G proteins. The receptor binds epinephrine and norepinephrine with similar affinities. Homologous desensitization of the receptor is mediated by its phosphorylation by beta-adrenergic receptor kinase.The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 250919 is selected from a sequence within the center region of human ADRB1. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
