PACAP [1-27] Peptide (Cat. No. 350318) corresponds to aa132-158 region of PACAP prohormone with C-term amidation. Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) is a 19-kDa prohormone (176 aa) processed into PACAP-related peptide (PRP-48, aa82-129), PACAP-27 (aa132-158) and PACAP-38 (aa132-169). PACAP stimulates adenylate cyclase in pituitary cells, playing pivotal roles as neurotransmitter and neuromodulator. PACAP belongs to the glucagon family, it induces insulin secretion by pancreatic beta cells.
