WT1 has a potential role in transcriptional regulation by recognizing and binding to the DNA sequence 5'-CGCCCCCGC-3'. Defects in WT1 are the cause of nephropathy (Frasier and Denys-Drash syndromes) and genito-urinary dysplasia in Wilms tumor syndrome.The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200144 is selected from a sequence within the C-term region of human WT1. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
