Myotubularin (MTM1) is a dual-specificity phosphatase that acts on both phosphotyrosine and phosphoserine. MTM1 is involved in the signal transduction pathway necessary for late myogenesis. Defects in MTM1 are the cause of X-linked centronuclear myopathy.The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200175 is selected from a sequence within the N-term region of human MTM1. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
