Carboxypeptidase M removes C-terminal basic residues (Arg or Lys) from peptides and proteins alike. It plays various roles in the cell from control of peptide hormone and growth factor activity ant the cell surface to membrane-localized degradation of extracellular proteins.The synthetic peptide used to raise the antibody Cat. No. 200206 is selected from a sequence within the N-term region of Carboxypeptidase M. For blocking experiments, a 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended.
